Relocation efforts are underway to move flood victims from Otjomuise to Goreangab, but some residents are resisting due to poor services and long distances to schools and workplaces. The city has set up ten tents, with eight designated for displaced families. The Windhoek City Council has highlighted its ongoing work to address risks in flood-prone areas. Former Mayor Sade S. Gawa-!nas noted that community meetings and awareness campaigns have warned residents of the dangers. Despite these efforts, some continue to settle in hazardous zones, leading to tragic incidents during floods.
