Ammonia Leak at Walvis Bay Factory Leaves 24 Affected

An ammonia leak from a docked crab vessel at Pereira Fishing caused 24 employees at the nearby Merlus Cormorant fishing factory in Walvis Bay to fall ill on Tuesday. Merlus management chairperson Stanley Katzao says the leak, blown into the factory through open windows, led to fainting and vomiting among staff. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
