China’s Xi to send top-level envoy to Trump’s inauguration

Chinese President Xi Jinping will send a high-level envoy in his place to US President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration, according to the Financial Times newspaper. Trump had extended the invitation to Xi, but experts said it would have been unprecedented for a leader of China to attend a US presidential inauguration and called it political theater.
