Caprivi Senior Secondary School Pupils Left Without Mattresses

Background

Around 450 pupils at Caprivi Senior Secondary School’s hostel in the Zambezi region are forced to sleep on beds without mattresses, with the few available being old and worn. Despite a multimillion-dollar renovation of the school’s facilities and hostel, mattresses were not included in the upgrade. Speaking to local media, Principal Richard Musilizo said a small donation of mattresses came through the Katima Mulilo constituency office, but the school remains in urgent need of assistance to provide adequate mattresses and lockers for the pupils’ comfort
