today21 January, 2025

Background

Investigations into the recent N$1-billion Namib Desert Diamonds (Namdia) heist have uncovered that one of the suspects provided false information to the police, naming two fake Angolan accomplices. The robbery, which nearly succeeded, was thwarted when neighbors alerted a private security company. Authorities believe the stolen diamonds could be worth between N$1 billion and N$1.3 billion, though other reports suggest a lower value. Police have identified three suspects: Trustco’s Max Endjala, his cousin Joel Angula, and Sam Shololo.
