Alibaba says its new AI model surpasses DeepSeek

Chinese tech giant Alibaba has released a new version of its Qwen 2.5 artificial intelligence model which its claims surpasses DeepSeek’s technology. The release of DeepSeek’s AI assistant this month and its R1 model have prompted tech shares to plunge – and investors to question spending by top American AI firms. Rebecca Bundhun reports.
