The Namibian Ports Authority (Namport) and the Port Administration of Sines and Algarve, SA (Administracão dos Portos de Sines e do Algarve) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the development of sustainable, green, and digital logistics corridors. The agreement aims to strengthen trade, connectivity, and investment between Namibia and Portugal, leveraging the two countries’ historical and economic ties. Namport CEO Andrew Kanime.

The partnership is aligned with the European Commission’s ambitious Global Gateway initiative, which seeks to mobilize N$5.823 billion for investments in smart, clean, and secure infrastructure projects across the energy, transport, and digital sectors. This collaboration is expected to foster long-term economic growth while enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of logistics networks between Africa and Europe.
The MoU highlights the commitment of both nations to promoting green, digital, and sustainable solutions in global trade, marking a significant step in deepening bilateral relations and advancing the global infrastructure agenda.
