S.A Minister suggests Africa should retaliate against US funding cuts

S.A’s Mineral Resources minister Gwede Mantashe has suggested Africa should retaliate against US funding cuts by withholding minerals. This follows president Donald Trump’s announcement to cut funding over South Africa’s land expropriation policy. Speaking at the 2025 Mining Indaba in Cape Town, Mantashe criticised the US for taking African resources.
