Malawi’s President Lazarus Chakwera has instructed the country’s defense forces to start preparations for the withdrawal of its troops from eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, according to a statement issued on Wednesday in Reuters’ reports.The Malawian troops are part of a Southern African regional bloc mission aimed at assisting the DRC in combating armed insurgents. The military mission was extended late last year by the regional bloc.
