A pensioner in Ou-Cordon allegedly raped granddaughter

A 62-year-old man was arrested on Thursday for allegedly raping his 8-year-old granddaughter on two occasions at Ou-Cordon village, in Mankumpi Constituency in the Kavango West region.

The incident that was reported yesterday happened at around 20h00, and the minors’ mother reported the incident to the police.

According to Chief Inspector Raimbert Muronga, the suspect called the minor into his sleeping room on two separate occasions and raped her.

Muronga added that the first incident happened approximately last year while the second incident occurred last night at their homestead.

The suspect is due to appear in court on Monday, 10 February 2025.
