Man dies during an NDF recruitment training

A man identified as Andrea Kaurembi Kambimba (20) died on Wednesday while participating in a Namibian Defence Force (NDF) recruitment training in Rundu, Kavango East Region.

According to police crime investigations coordinator, Bonifatius Kanyetu, the deceased collapsed during a 2.5 kilometer race between Rundu Youth Centre and Rundu Vocational Training Centre in Kehemu.

Kambimba was rushed to Rundu State Hospital by the NDF medical team, where he was declared dead.

His body was taken to the mortuary, pending further police investigation and a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
