The government is increasing funding for social grants and youth employment initiatives. In his budget motivation speech, Finance Minister Hon. Iipumbu Shiimi reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities and tackling unemployment. Shiimi announced that more funds will go towards child grants, old-age pensions, and youth employment programs to ease financial hardships. He added that these measures aim to reduce poverty and create job opportunities. Parliament Spokesperson Sackeus Kadhikwa confirmed that the initiatives are part of the government’s broader plan for social and economic stability.
