Former President Hifikepunye Pohamba said he has lost a good friend, a leader of the Namibian Nation and founding president.

Pohamba, who was speaking during Nujoma’s first memorial service at Etunda village, Okahao constituency, said he met Nujoma 63 years ago, while in Angola

Thus, Pohamba indicated that his last visit to Nujoma was while hospitalized in Windhoek two weeks ago and was made to realise that anything can happen.

“Death came to Nujoma and we are no longer going to see him, but we have to look at what Nujoma has done from his childhood up to the time he left office,” he said.

He added that people should now work towards building a Namibian nation that was envisioned by Nujoma.
