today22 February, 2025

Background

Almost sixty million voters head to the polls Sunday as Germany elects a new Chancellor and Government. The early election in Europe’s biggest economy comes following the collapse of Olaf Scholz’s former three-party coalition back in November – the Chancellor now in a fight to try and secure a second term.
