The early election in Europe's biggest economy comes following the collapse of Olaf Scholz's former three-party coalition back in November - the Chancellor now in a fight to try and secure a second term. In S.A, Afrikaans e-hailing service, WANATU, has resumed operations after the High Court in Pretoria granted the company an urgent interdict preventing the Tshwane Metro Police from impounding its vehicles. With legal assistance from AfriForum, the court ruled in WANATU's favor. AfriForum's Louis Boshoff says the service was suspended earlier this month due to permit issues:

A severe drought has disrupted farming, placing over 1.26 million people—40% of the population—at risk of food insecurity. The delayed rainy season and insufficient rainfall have worsened planting conditions. Agriculture Minister Calle Schlettwein has provided an update on the crisis.
