MVA CEO Rosalia Martins-Hausiku says the incoming administration should strengthen the country’s medical specialisation.
She said the country’s health sector needs improvement.
Martins-Hausiku shared some key areas the incoming president, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, should focus on when she takes office.
“The public hospitals—I think we need to look into that. We need to look into current skills that we have in terms of doctors, specialists, etc. I think that we need to boost that area,” remarked Martins-Hausiku.
She expressed excitement about the changes Nandi-Ndaitwah will bring.
She said Nandi-Ndaitwah should also continue working where previous presidents left off.
In addition, she congratulated the incoming president: “I must say, what a time to be alive to witness the first female president for the Republic of Namibia. It is indeed an achievement for the country, for SADC, and for Africa.
{But also, as females, I think we are excited to see in our lifetime a female president being elected in Namibia.”
As the head of an institution that promotes road safety, Martins-Hausiku cautioned motorists to adhere to the road rules and regulations, especially as the roads are expected to be busy during the inauguration of the fifth president.
