Fatal crash claims one life near Oranjemund

A case of culpable homicide, as well as reckless and/or negligent driving, is under investigation following a fatal accident on the MR118 road between Oranjemund and Rosh Pinah.

The incident occurred on Saturday, 5 April 2025, at approximately 21h00, about 40 km from Oranjemund.

It is alleged that the 35-year-old male driver of a white Chevrolet sedan lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn.

According to the weekend crime report, a 27-year-old male passenger died at the scene.

His next of kin have not yet been informed. The driver and two other male passengers sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment at Namdeb Private Hospital.

The body of the deceased will be transported to Keetmanshoop Hospital for a postmortem examination. Police investigations continue.
