Cape Town’s Disaster Risk Management Centre reports that despite ongoing cold front conditions pounding the region, no major flooding incidents were logged overnight across the city. However, the aftershocks of the storm are clear: localised flooding, fallen trees, and damaged infrastructure continue to cause disruption.

According to the Daily Voice, by midday Thursday, Vygieskraal and Belgravia were hardest hit, with approximately 269 structures affected in Vygieskraal (impacting around 600 residents), and 55 homes flooded in Voël Street, Belgravia.

Disaster Risk Management spokesperson Sonica Lategan confirmed that organisations like the Mustadafin Foundation and Islamic Relief have mobilised relief efforts in these areas.

City authorities are also assessing storm damage to roads, clearing stormwater drains, and trimming fallen trees. The public is urged to donate non‑perishable food and hygiene supplies—drop-off points are open at fire stations in Constantia, Goodwood, Hout Bay, Lakeside, Roeland Street, Strand, and Wynberg.

Weather outlook: skies are expected to clear Thursday afternoon, with lingering showers Friday. But the Level 4 wave warning and Level 2 disruptive rainfall alerts remain active along the coast
