Windhoek, 9 July 2025 – The Namibian Police Force is investigating a worrying spike in fire-related incidents nationwide, many suspected to be arson, claiming both lives and property, tragically including children, police confirm.
Chief Inspector Elifas Kuwinga revealed fires have occurred in residential and public spaces, including a deadly blaze at a police barracks last September that killed a K9 unit officer. Investigators have recovered CCTV footage in at least one suspected arson case.
