Increase in suicides among men triggers calls for targeted support

 

Mental health professionals are raising concerns about a rise in suicides among men. Experts say economic pressure, social isolation, and stigma are key contributing factors.

Dr. Shaun Whittaker, a clinical psychologist, says these men often feel trapped by financial expectations and reluctant to seek help. He urges the creation of targeted mental health services, safe spaces for men to talk, and early intervention programmes.
