Finance Ministry extends youth fund proposal deadline to 25 August

The Ministry of Finance has extended the deadline for submitting project proposals for the National Youth Development Fund from 1 August to 25 August 2025. The official launch of the fund has been moved to 14 September 2025, giving applicants additional time to prepare and submit their proposals.

Political analyst Ndumba Kamwanya has welcomed the extension, calling the fund an important step toward youth empowerment. However, he stressed the need for robust implementation plans and comprehensive feasibility studies to ensure its success.

Kamwanya further cautioned that the government should focus on enabling job creation through supportive policies rather than directly creating jobs, adding that decisions should be based on sound evidence and thorough economic analysis.
