Agogo FPSO achieves first oil ahead of schedule, commences 15-year charter

Yinson Production has announced that the Agogo Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit achieved first oil on 29 July 2025, four months ahead of schedule and 29 months after the contract was awarded. The development follows the issuance of the Provisional Operational Readiness Certificate (PORC) on 12 August 2025, marking the start of its 15-year firm lease and operation contract with Azule Energy, valued at over USD 5 billion.

Deployed in Angola’s Block 15/06, the Agogo FPSO has a production capacity of 120,000 barrels of oil per day and storage capacity of 1.6 million barrels. It is the world’s first operating FPSO with carbon capture technology and features advanced emissions-reducing systems, including a closed flare system, hydrocarbon blanketing, combined cycle technology, automated process controls, and all-electric drives.

The Agogo FPSO is deployed to the Agogo Integrated West Hub Development Project and will operate under a 15-year firm charter, with optional annual extensions of up to five years. Its successful commissioning strengthens Yinson Production’s operational portfolio and frees its EPC team to pursue new projects, further expanding its presence in Africa.
