The City of Windhoek officially launched its 2025/2026 public meetings, beginning with the first session at the Rocky Crest Multi-Purpose Centre. The meetings serve as a platform for residents to raise issues and contribute to discussions on service delivery and local development priorities.
According to the City, the majority of residents engaged constructively, although concern was raised over a few individuals who attempted to disrupt the proceedings. City officials emphasized that the meetings are non-political platforms, designed to ensure transparent dialogue and inclusive planning for the capital’s future.
City spokesperson Lydia Amutenya underscored the importance of the initiative, stating that the meetings are vital in aligning community needs with the City’s service delivery commitments.
