Global African Hydrogen Summit 2025: EU businesses eye Namibia’s green hydrogen opportunities

European businesses have seen increased opportunities in Namibia’s growing green hydrogen sector. Deputy Head of Mission with the European Union, Ian de Pont said Namibia and the European Union already share a long-standing trade relationship.

Speaking at the Global African Hydrogen Summit 2025 to Future Media News, de Pont pointed to planned partnerships between the ports of Antwerp, Bruges, and Rotterdam with Namibia’s Walvis Bay and Lüderitz ports to support green industrialisation. De Pont added that the collaboration will boost jobs in Namibia while also benefiting Europe.
