The City of Windhoek has launched an electric vehicle charging station at its head office.
According to city officials, the initiative supports the Zero Emissions campaign, which promotes clean energy and aims to reduce greenhouse gases.
Charging at the station costs approximately N$120 for larger vehicles, with fast chargers capable of completing a session in under 40 minutes. The launch coincides with Zero Emissions Week, which runs from 15 to 22 September.
City spokesperson Lydia Amutenya stated that the charging station demonstrates the municipality’s commitment to sustainable transportation.
