The Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) will lead the €2 million IGNITE Green Hydrogen Project, officially signed at the Namibian Institute of Mining and Technology (NIMT) during a high-level European Union visit to Namibia. The EU delegation was led by Commissioner for International Partnerships H.E. Jozef Síkela. It included Mr. Barry Andrews, Chair of the European Parliament’s Committee on Development, along with eight senior committee members and the Africa-EU Parliamentary Assembly delegation.
NUST to Lead €2 Million IGNITE green hydrogen project Tonata Kadhila
The two-year project, starting in October, aims to bridge the skills gap in renewable energy by training 300 TVET graduates. NUST will lead a consortium including Hyphen Hydrogen Energy, Zhero Pty, NamWater, and NIMT. NUST Public Relations Officer Cindy-Lee Van Wyk highlighted the importance of the initiative in developing Namibia’s green hydrogen workforce.
