Fire destroys five shacks in Kuisebmond’s Tutaleni area

A fire that broke out early Friday morning in Kuisebmond’s Tutaleni area destroyed five shacks.

According to the police, the incident occurred around 07h40 on Visarend Street when a fire started in one of the unoccupied shacks and quickly spread to four adjacent structures.

Although all five shacks were destroyed, no fatalities or serious injuries were reported. However, one firefighter was taken to hospital for treatment after reportedly inhaling smoke while battling the blaze.

The Walvis Bay Fire Brigade responded promptly and managed to extinguish the fire before it spread further.

The value of the damage has not yet been determined, and the cause of the fire remains unknown.
