Magistrates Down Tools Nationwide Over Pay Dispute

Background
The High Court of Namibia (Main Division) on Independence Avenue at Windhoek in Khomas Region, Namibia. 

Court proceedings across Namibia came to a standstill yesterday as magistrates launched a nationwide work stoppage, demanding salary adjustments and improved benefits. The strike action left dozens of court attendees stranded, with no hearings taking place countrywide. The magistrates argue that previous negotiations have not resolved their longstanding concerns over pay and benefits. Here is Former Ombudsman John Walters.
