President urges Namibians to strengthen ties with residents of neighbouring countries

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has urged Namibians to value and strengthen ties and cooperation with citizens of neighboring countries.

She made the remarks during her arrival at Ondangwa’s Andimba Toivo ya Toivo airport from Luanda on Tuesday.

She attended the 50th Independence Anniversary celebrations of the Republic of Angola on Tuesday.

Nandi-Ndaitwah said it is important to build relationships with neighbouring countries, to be able to assist each other economically.

“It was indeed a successful celebration, people looked happy and I was happy too, I learned how to organise events of that nature,” she said.

Nandi-Ndaitwah said that a neighbour is like a bother or a sister, urging Namibians to maintain good cooperation with cross-borders countries.

Additionally, the President laid a wreath in honour of the late founding president of Angola Agostinho Neto.
