The Forum for South Africa (FOSA) has expressed serious concern over repeated delays in the pre-sentencing process of Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema’s assault rifle case. The East London Magistrate’s Court in the Eastern Cape has postponed the pre-sentencing to April.

FOSA leader Tebogo Mashilompane criticized the delays, saying the magistrate’s failure to conclude the matter in a timely manner undermines public confidence in the justice system.

He added that the case appears politically motivated and highlights a troubling disparity: the provisions of justice for the rich and politically connected are not the same as those for the poor.
