President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has appointed Charles Mubita as Minister in the Presidency, alongside a new slate of deputy ministers across key government portfolios.
The appointments, announced at State House, cover several ministries including health and social services, works and transport, environment, ICT, home affairs, and justice.
The new deputy ministers are:
Hambeleleni S.D. Ndjaleka – Health and Social Services
Hans S. Haikali – Works and Transport
Anselma N. Marungu – Environment, Forestry and Tourism
Moses Khumub – Office of the Vice President
Wenzel Kavaka – Information and Communication Technology
Edward Alfred Wambo – Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security
Inecia Theresia Brandt – Justice and Labour Relations
Hilma Nicanor was also appointed as Advisor to the Minister of Defence.
The President said the delayed announcement of deputy ministers was intended to ensure inclusivity, particularly through the incorporation of National Council representatives. She emphasised their role in bringing grassroots perspectives into national decision-making.
