The Tangeni Shilongo Namibia non-profit organisation recently handed over 10 000 set squares to twelve schools and organisations in the Erongo Region that they received from the Rumold & Ecobra company in Germany.

The organisation decided to share the donation with others in the region with the idea that education thrives when communities support each other.

The principal of Horizon Primary School, operated by Tangeni Shilongo Namibia, Elise Hangula, noted that the sets will ensure learners no longer have to share, miss pieces and struggle to draw perfect circles without a compass.

“Geometry with the right tools lets mathematics become more accessible, engaging, and far less intimidating. It opens the door to understanding, confidence, and even curiosity. Tangeni Shilongo Namibia hopes that the set squares will not only support daily learning, but also inspire a new generation of thinkers, problem-solvers, and innovators,” she said on Monday.

Tangeni Shilongo Namibia has been in operation since 2015, in education and social development, with a focus on supporting vulnerable children and young people from disadvantaged communities.

The organisation has two education centres in the Democratic Resettlement Community informal settlement at Swakopmund, where more than 275 learners benefit from a range of programmes, including early childhood development, homework support, and a vocational youth development program.
