Kluivert fired by Adana Demirspor

Former Dutch international Patrick Kluivert has been relieved of his duties as manager of after the Turkish club won just one of their last six matches.

“We are parting ways by mutual agreement with our coach, Mr. Patrick Kluivert,” said the club which stands fifth in the league table.

“We would like to thank Mr. Kluivert and his staff for their contribution to our club, and wish him success for the remainder of his career.”

Kluivert, 47, only took over as manager in the summer — his first experience as a club’s head coach, having left Curacao to go to Turkey.

A former player for Ajax and Barcelona, Kluivert’s team — which includes the likes of Mario Balotelli, Nani, M’Baye Niang, Younes Belhanda and Benjamin Stambouli — had a good start to the season.

But a 3-2 home defeat by struggling Samsunspor on the weekend was too much for club officials.
