Man charged for friend’s murder and rape

A 29-year-old man was arrested on Monday, after a post-mortem revealed that the 35-year-old woman who allegedly died on Sunday in his company, was raped and murdered. According to Namibian Police Force spokesperson Inspector Raimbert Muronga, the incident reportedly happened at Ignatius Loyola Street in Katutura, Windhoek. Earlier information reported alleged that the deceased was picked up by her male friend from her house during the night. When they reached his room they had a couple of drinks, before going to sleep. Initial reports also suggested that when the man (now turned suspect) woke up in the morning, he tried waking up the deceased person but she was not responding. He then informed the landlord, who called an ambulance, the police said.
