On Thursday, the Otjiwarongo local authority council halted the interview process intended for the recruitment of its permanent chief executive officer. The CEO position at the Otjiwarongo Municipality has remained vacant following the departure of Moses Matyayi, who assumed the same role at the City of Windhoek at the end of July this year. Mayor Gottlieb Shivute of Otjiwarongo attributed the decision to cancel the interview process to a “material omission” identified by members of the interview panel.
