A majority of South African consumers are making use of loyalty programmes to cover food costs this festive season. According to the 2022 Truth and BrandMapp Loyalty Whitepaper, South African shoppers exhibit higher loyalty levels compared to their counterparts in many African regions. Major retailers have implemented loyalty initiatives to enhance customer retention. Money relations coach Nthabi Monage told eNCA 73-percent of economically active South Africans participate in loyalty programmes as they are an effective way to save.
