Two separate incidents of fatal stabbing were reported in the Omusati Region yesterday, as confirmed by Inspector Anna Kunga, Community Affairs Officer of the Namibian Police Force. In the first incident, Shiimi Onesmus, a 40-year-old resident of Akaonde village in the Onesi Constituency, was allegedly fatally stabbed at the Okapanda shebeen. The perpetrator, identified as an Angolan national, reportedly fled the scene and remains at large. The incident occurred following a drinking session in the same establishment. The victim followed the suspect outside, where the suspect then turned and stabbed the victim once with a knife, resulting in the victim’s immediate death. Kunga mentioned that the suspect works as a cattle herder at a nearby cattle post and might have fled across the border back to Angola.
