Two long-distance bus drivers caught transporting illegally imported goods

Background

In the Oshikoto Region of Namibia, the Namibian police apprehended two long-distance bus drivers who were allegedly caught transporting illegally imported goods. The arrests occurred during the early hours of Friday at Tsumeb’s Fourway Roadblock, with both suspects taken into custody only minutes apart. The initial suspect, aged 52, was detained just after midnight when authorities thoroughly searched his bus, registered in Windhoek. Upon inspection, law enforcement discovered eighteen boxes of “Yes” cigarettes and 27 boxes of “Best” whisky, valued at a combined N$128,700. Shortly thereafter, the second suspect, aged 31, was apprehended when his Windhoek-registered bus was stopped and searched.
