Walvis Bay police officer Bartholomeus Shindimba was granted bail

Background

Walvis Bay police officer Bartholomeus Shindimba was granted bail on Friday, set at N$1,000, following allegations of being found in possession of a stolen cellphone that belonged to Vernon Gavin, aged 52, discovered deceased at home on December 30.
Inspector Ileni Shapumba, the Erongo police spokesperson, confirmed that Shindimba, stationed at Walvis Bay Police Station, appeared in the Walvis Bay Magistrate’s Court and is scheduled for a subsequent appearance on April 17. Shindimba faces charges specifically related to the possession of stolen property. Further investigations are ongoing to ascertain his full involvement in the case.
