The number of learners who qualify for higher education admission has increased by 3.2%, as announced by Education Minister Anna Nghipondoka during the release of the Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate Ordinary and Advanced Subsidiary Levels results on Wednesday. In the NSSCO full-time category, 29.4% of the 11,970 candidates achieved 25 points or above in five subjects, marking a 14.1% improvement from 2022. Executive Director of the Ministry of Education Arts and Culture, Sanet Steenkamp says the numbers show a positive trend in educational achievement.

Meanwhile, with only 29.4% of the 11,970 candidates achieving 25 points or above in five subjects in the NSSCO full-time category, we contacted Windhoek-based Psychologist, Dr. Shaun Whittaker for his take.
