The United Nations Children’s Fund and the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation in Namibia expressed their commendation for the Namibian Government’s proactive role at the Transforming Education Summit. In an official statement on the International Day of Education, the organizations lauded Namibia’s initiative in addressing the learning crisis and exploring solutions to achieve inclusive and equitable quality education for all by 2030. Despite this positive stance, the UN agencies noted ongoing challenges reported by the Education, Arts, and Culture ministry including high learner pregnancy rates, elevated repetition rates in early grades, and dropout rates across basic education phases.
