EXCLUSIVE: Germany’s Ambassador Dr. Thorsten Hutter Shares Insights on the Usab Kindergarten Donation Project

The embassy had donated over $350,000 to the Emmaus Children’s Facility in Karibib, contributing to essential infrastructure and resources for the kindergarten. Interview Highlights:  Ambassador Hutter shared insights into the event held on Friday at Usab in Karibib, where the official opening of the Emmaus Children’s Facility took place. The financial donation, totaling approximately 350,000 Namibian dollars, was directed towards purchasing a solar system, water tanks, playground facilities, a climbing frame, mattresses, and other essentials. The funds were applied for by Amanda Bloom, the principal of Emmaus Children’s Facility, who reached out for support.

Dr. Thorsten Hutter clarified that the kindergarten was originally named Sunshine Kindergarten but changed to Emmaus. The funds were instrumental in the completion of the kindergarten’s infrastructure and facilities.

Supporting Projects in Omaruru: Beyond the Usab Kindergarten project, Ambassador Hutter highlighted two additional ventures in the Omaruru area. The first involved the German School in Omaruru, one of the oldest German schools in Namibia. The embassy provided financial support to assess its progress and contributions to the German Namibian community.

The second project, the Taking Hands Educational Center, received over 400,000 Namibian dollars for building materials, fencing, and construction. This center supports children from families facing financial challenges, providing them with a safe and supportive environment.
