Netherlands beat Richelieu Eagles in Nepal

today19 February, 2024

Background

The Namibian senior national cricket team, the Richelieu Eagles, lost their second match at the
ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 triangular series. After winning their first match against hosts Nepal, the Namibians found the going tough this morning after being sent in to bat by the Netherlands. After losing early wickets, the Namibians were reeling 26 for 3 wickets, could not recover and posted a total of only 123. After a solid 78 run partnership by the Netherlands openers, Michael Levitt (57 off 81 balls) and Max O’Dowd (28 off 42), the Richelieu Eagles managed to slow the run rate and take three wickets, but with a low victory target, it was too little too late for the Ruchelieu Eagles, with victory going to the Netherlands by 7 wickets. The result means that each of the teams have 1 win and one loss. The Richelieu Eagles next face Nepal in Wednesday morning.
