The Philippines has lodged a protest and summoned a Chinese representative over a collision in the contested Spratly Islands. Manila says four crew members were hurt after Chinese Coast Guard vessels water cannoned and executed ‘dangerous manoeuvres’ in the South China Sea while its ships were on a routine resupply mission. Filipino troops are stationed on a grounded naval ship in the region. Beijing has repeatedly called on Manila to remove that warship which is being used as a makeshift military base. Neha Poonia has more from Hong Kong.
