Justice Minister Yvonne Dausab is attending the ceremony of the Commonwealth Law Ministers Meeting taking place in Zanzibar from 4 to 8 March 2024. A key focus will be on examining responsible ways to leverage technology to improve law and access to justice, especially for marginalised people, and developments in climate policy. Dausab says that the meeting agenda will also tackle electronic resources for efficient legal systems.

Hosted by the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania, the meeting focuses on the theme ‘Technology and Innovation: How digitalisation paves the way for the development of people-centered access to justice’.

During the meeting, law ministers and attorneys-general from across the Commonwealth will also discuss recent legal developments in their jurisdictions and explore responses to emerging justice issues affecting Commonwealth citizens.
