Former Namsov fisherman, Thomas Haimbala, who lost his job years ago due to the Fishrot saga, is still struggling to find employment. The Fishrot scandal involved the diversion of quotas from Namsov Fishing Enterprises, leading to the loss of jobs for Haimbala and 1,000 other fishing industry workers. In a recent report by the Institute for Public Policy Research titled ‘The Ones That Suffered the Most,’ Haimbala expressed his financial hardships. The report, compiled by the IPPR’s researcher Frederico Links and reporter Ester Mbathera, sheds light on the ongoing challenges faced by those affected by the Fishrot scheme.
