The Khomas region has reported the highest number of gender-based violence cases in Namibia, with 3,302 incidents from January 2020 to December last year. Following Khomas are the Ohangwena region with 1,807 cases, Hardap with 1,746, and Oshana with 1,459. Nationally, 17,669 GBV cases were recorded, with 81.2% of the victims being women. The regions with the fewest cases were Kavango West, Kunene, Omaheke, and Zambezi. Most cases involved common assault, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and malicious damage to property.
