After a strike that began on May 13, due to dissatisfaction over low wages, over 100 employees of OK Foods in Rundu and workers in Nkurenkuru are set to return to work. Namibia Food and Allied Workers Union representative, Paulus Mushongo, confirmed a settlement agreement had been reached, including a salary increase of N$300 and an additional N$90 for transport allowance. Negotiations had stalled over OK Foods’ initial offer of N$142 without added benefits, while the union sought a N$350 raise and N$250 transport allowance. OK Foods Managing Director, Jose Machado, expressed relief.
