Tourism Board Proposes African Visa System to Boost Continental Travel and Tourism

today4 June, 2024

Background

The Namibia Tourism Board has proposed an African visa system similar to the Schengen visa to streamline continental travel and boost tourism. In report carried by The Brief, Acting CEO, Bonnie Mbidzo emphasized the need for seamless movement for both African and European travelers and the necessity of infrastructure development to support this initiative. The proposal aligns with commitments by officials from the Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area to expand the successful KAZA Uni-visa, which has facilitated easier travel between Zambia and Zimbabwe since 2016.
