The pre-sentencing involving Jandre Dippenaar which was supposed to be heard in court today has been postponed to the 20th until the 22nd of August 2024. The decision comes as magistrate Gaynor Poulton ruled that the accused apply for representation of his choice after his initial legal senior council (lawyer) Louis Botes died during the trial, for Dippenaar to undergo a psychological evaluation and to have witnesses present. Additionally, bail was denied and he remains in custody at the Walvis Bay Correctional facility. Dippenaar was found guilty last week of six murder charges, reckless and negligent driving, and driving without a valid driver’s license.
Meanwhile, 26-year-old Antonia Joshka, the only survivor of the car crash, says she is happy with the charges brought against him but frustrated by the delayed tactics of the case.
